Five companies, five courses. Tap a name to open the case study.
MedSpeed is my current client — training built for a fast-moving logistics operation. I designed EOS-based goal-setting training around quarterly Rocks and weekly accountability, updated Blue Shirt Certified onboarding with a new welcome video featuring employee testimonials, and built Control Center training covering Salesforce processes, call-script adherence, and customer service standards.
Alongside the course builds, I manage learning administration — course assignments, enrollments, and completion tracking — updated the team's playbooks, and helped establish a standardized quality system for course development and approval. I also support HR communications and engagement through onboarding packets, branded materials, and charity content.
Abbott needed structured training built from the ground up for warehouse staff. I ran interviews and surveys to find the actual gaps, then built role-based learning paths spanning CBT and on-the-job training for new hires and legacy staff alike.
That included a mock warehouse training environment and co-developed orientation materials for new processes, plus competency assessments converted into structured OJT across Postponement, Inbound, Outbound, and Inventory Control, and device documentation built alongside hardware vendors. Throughout, I partnered with L&D, Learning Support, and SMEs to keep content quality and approval readiness on track, and collaborated openly with people at every level of the organization. The specific content stays confidential — the process behind it is the story.
2Discern’s mission statement as a company is to partner with small to medium-sized businesses and progressive, forward-looking leaders on some of their toughest challenges. They break through walls and build bridges to unleash human potential and drive innovation and the type of decision-making that leads to effective cultures and lasting business impact. However, there was a digital divide between the individuals who needed help finding their true selves before looking for that purposeful job. Rick and Margie called upon me to help them make engaging instructional videos to keep a positive inspirational tone to the course. Also, I was at this huge crossroads in my life and I was the demographic they were looking to help test and take the course.
Project InfoInformation: The project I was involved with was producing, testing, and assisting in the instructional designing of the “Seek You” courses that help people center themselves in a hectic job market.
Course VideoVideo Editing
During the production phase, I meticulously orchestrated the setup, including lighting, teleprompter arrangement, lavalier microphone placement, and camera configuration to capture seamless monologues between course segments. Additionally, I guided speakers on their delivery style, ensuring optimal engagement with the intended audience.
Afterward, I meticulously edited each module, maintaining brand consistency and attention to detail to deliver polished, coherent videos. This involved refining transitions, enhancing visual clarity, and ensuring a seamless viewing experience for learners.
Graphics
Collaborating closely with the client's branding elements including logos, fonts, and color schemes, I crafted visually engaging graphics to complement the course content. These graphics served to both illustrate key concepts within the course and introduce each video segment. Utilizing Canva, I ensured alignment with the client's established visual identity across their website and social media platforms, maintaining consistency and enhancing overall brand cohesion.
Testing
I conducted comprehensive testing of the course materials, providing valuable feedback to refine and optimize the learning experience. By immersing myself in the role of the learner, I experienced the course content, enabling me to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with the intended learning outcomes. This hands-on approach allowed me to empathize with learners and tailor the course to effectively enhance their capabilities and foster professional development.
2Discern's mission is to partner with small and medium-sized businesses and forward-looking leaders on their toughest challenges — but there was a gap between people who needed to find their true selves before they could go looking for purposeful work. Rick and Margie, 2Discern's founders, brought me on to build engaging, inspirational instructional videos for "Seek You," their course helping people center themselves in a hectic job market. I was going through my own crossroads at the time, which put me squarely in the demographic the course was built to help — I ended up testing and taking it myself.
I applied the ADDIE model to structure the content in Thinkific for a clear, cohesive progression, then produced the instructional video in Adobe Premiere and the branded graphics and motion graphics in Canva. On the production side, I set up lighting, teleprompter placement, lav mic placement, and camera configuration for seamless monologues between segments, and coached speakers on delivery. Learner feedback shaped the course throughout, keeping it aligned with what people actually needed to hear at that point in their search.
About the Project
Project Overview:
Sparrow Coffee is committed to the artistry of coffee roasting, viewing it as a craft perfected over years of dedication. Distinguished from high-volume roasters like Starbucks, Sparrow emphasizes precision and quality in every batch. Originating from the passion and expertise of its founder, Chris Chacko, Sparrow aims to deliver exceptional coffee experiences through meticulously sourced beans and carefully crafted brewing methods.
As Sparrow Coffee expands its operations and explores franchising opportunities, the need arises to ensure consistency and excellence across all locations. To achieve this, Sparrow identified the necessity of a comprehensive onboarding program for new baristas. This program aims to equip employees with the knowledge and skills required to create the "perfect cup of coffee" according to Sparrow's standards.
Project InfoInformation: The project involves developing a structured course that covers essential aspects of coffee roasting, brewing techniques, and Sparrow's unique approach to coffee culture. By providing baristas with this foundational knowledge, Sparrow aims to streamline the training process and cultivate a shared understanding of their brand's ethos and practices.
The Course
Sparrow Coffee needed onboarding that matched a young, hands-on, mobile-first staff. When I asked the manager who typically works there, he laughed and said "extremely caffeinated 20-year-olds — good luck getting their attention." I took that as a challenge. The staff turned out to be mostly college students — busy, tech-proficient, and drawn to hands-on learning — so I applied the ADDIE model and built a barista curriculum around consistent technique, developed as three Articulate Rise modules broken into bite-sized, mobile-friendly chunks they could get through between shifts or classes.
I storyboarded, filmed, and edited a step-by-step barista demo, refined the voiceover in Adobe Audition, carried the brand through in Canva, and wired the finished course content directly into the site's HTML backend — then tested it with new and existing staff.
About the Project
AgeGuide’s mission as an Area Agency on Aging is to be a vital resource and advocate for people as they age by providing thoughtful guidance, supportive services, and meaningful connections. In the process of this beautiful mission statement, they wanted to educate the community about how to become Dementia Friendly. This created the idea for AgeGuide Learning Center. The ALC is an educational resource for everyone in the community. Whether you are a professional in the Aging Services Network, a business, a service provider, or an older adult or caregiver. Overall, the courses are designed to better equip you with anything you may need. The overall idea was to help pave the way for residents, businesses, and organizations to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia and those who care for them. The courses provide best practices to help you build a more inclusive and thriving community.
Project InfoInformation: The project I was involved with was instructional designing the “Dementia Friendly” courses and the Medicare Training. Also, designing the landing page, the branding and administrate the ALC after it’s launch.
Process & ApproachGap 1: The Course
The information was solid, well worded, and hit the parts that needed more emphasis. The questions helped you remember what the main lesson of the course was and what terms you need to start using moving forward. It needed a change of tone to create an e-learning environment that people felt excited to be a part of. So, being a voice over actor I took the role of being the teacher in this course and editing the videos. I kept the pace up and read it with enthusiasm which made the course feel more engaging.
Gap 2: Branding
I decided to give the learning center a more positive look around it’s brand kit. Active seniors of all backgrounds using technology instead of them being disabled and unable. I made sure to center the individual business sector courses around who the course was for so they felt included in the Dementia Friendly community. I also had to create all of the Medicare Tutorials along with that design and in 7 different languages.
Gap 3: Landing Page
I designed the landing page to be concise and showcase all of the different courses the ALC had to offer. I created a survey on typeform to get the organization’s information, their purpose for the course, a way to inform them about the course itself and a way to have all that information sent to my email address to help onboard them on to Talent LMS.
After releasing the ALC we were recognized for a national award for creating a platform where individuals and organizations can learn and receive certifications in being Dementia Friendly. It was very well received and the learners felt engaged, heard, and walked away with a better knowledge of the disease. To AgeGuide this award achieved their mission statement to better the community.
During the testing phase with select clients, AgeGuide recognized the need for a more streamlined and automated course management system. They envisioned a platform where users could access courses instantly without the need for logging in, integrate their existing YouTube videos seamlessly, and receive automated certificates upon completion. This enhancement aimed to simplify the onboarding process for businesses, provide precise demographic insights, and ensure a smooth, automated experience for clients.
To achieve this, I leveraged an existing Typeform solution and seamlessly integrated it with AgeGuide's Google Suite. First, I embedded their instructional YouTube videos directly into each course module, enhancing visibility and directing traffic to their YouTube channel while consolidating analytics within YouTube's system.
Additionally, I implemented a survey at the beginning of each course module to gather valuable demographic data from users. By connecting Typeform to Google Sheets, user responses were automatically logged into a spreadsheet for easy access and analysis. Furthermore, I developed a plugin to automate certificate generation, ensuring that users received their certification promptly upon completing the course.
To enhance the learning experience, I incorporated interactive questions with a feedback loop. Users who answered questions incorrectly were guided through a reiteration process until they achieved the correct answer, facilitating effective learning progression.
SummaryAgeGuide Northeastern Illinois needed a Dementia Friendly education platform that felt current and welcoming, not the outdated, monotone course it was replacing. I rebuilt the course as a voiced, paced e-learning series — stepping in as the on-camera voiceover talent myself — and refreshed the brand around active, included older adults instead of a disability-first framing.
I designed a Typeform-to-LMS landing page and signup flow, then automated onboarding: YouTube-embedded modules, a Google Sheets-linked demographic survey, and auto-generated certificates, so businesses could self-serve instead of waiting on manual signup. The build also included Medicare training in seven languages.
The finished AgeGuide Learning Center went on to win a national award for the platform's approach to Dementia Friendly certification. Throughout development I led course QA with test learners, gathering their feedback to keep improving the learning experience before launch.
